Since Baby Ellie is starting to notice when I'm not around, I decided to bite the bullet and leave her in the nursery at church. (gasp!!) The Muffin was almost two years old before she stayed with anyone other than my mom, my sister or her Gammy Gladys. She first stayed in the nursery at our old church when she was 22 months old.
The nice ladies at the new church have been itching to get their hands on her, but we weren't quite ready to be away from her. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to leave her with a friend from the church that I grew up in. She now goes to this church too and I took care of her three kids when they were small.
Baby Ellie smiled, cooed, drank her milk and napped right on cue. She was a hit! Now, I think they expect her to stay every Sunday. I left her only because I thought that it would help us to enjoy church a little bit more without worrying if she was going to cry, spit up or burp really loud (which she did a couple of times) during the service. Well, for those reasons and the nursery gives you a pager so that they can contact you instantly if they need you.
Baby Ellie is staying in the church nursery now and The Muffin starts preschool this week. My babies are growing up too fast.

I remember Andrew's first day in the nursery. I was nervous the whole service but at our church, they have a little scolling videoboard in which they display your number if you are needed. I felt so much more comfortable with that idea.
