Since The Muffin is starting her year of preschool, I've had to start a new routine of my own. My goal is always for the house to be clean, the kids to be happy and cared for and for me to have as little as possible to do after lunch. I always have more to do at the end of the day than what I want, but I'm trying to work everything out.
I have my alarm set for 6:00. That gives me an hour and 45 minutes until we need to start working our way out the door. (Just getting from the living room to the car could take up to 10 minutes depending on mood swings!) I usually have my coffee and get ready and then wake Muff up around 7:00. That gives us plenty of time for breakfast/Ellie feedings, meltdowns, wardrobe changes and anything else that may come up. I try to keep things as stress free as possible so that we leave the house in good moods.
Baby Ellie took a nap as soon as we returned from taking Muff to school. That gave me free time to do lots of cleaning and then sit down with nothing to do for about ten minutes. When I returned with The Muffin, I fixed lunch. After we had eaten I put both The Muffin and Ellie down for a nap, swept up the crumbs in the dining room floor, washed dishes, brought the empty trash can back to the house and retrieved the mail from the mailbox.
Now, I'm free of work until I start cooking dinner!

You forgot to mention that you made a pit stop to visit Auntie Lisa on the way home from pre-school. I enjoyed it very much!!!
I love your routine! Do you make computer time part of that routine? In my comments on my post, did you read the one from MOMSWEB? It was awesome. I can't wait to try it. :) Enjoy our Tuesday!
