I don't even like surprises

I don't. Really.

I had every intention of sharing our big news at the beginning of this week or surely by the end. Needless to say, things do not always go as I have them planned. We're trying to get a few things clarified before we tell the general public, and I'm hoping that I haven't made a fool of myself by telling the people that I've told.

And just so you know, a lot of people think that I'm taking all of this new well. What they don't know is that I'm awake for hours each and every night where I pray and cry and plan. And I've been dealing with this for more weeks than anyone else other than Big Daddy. And it's not going to be easy or fun at first, but I'm hopeful that it will be...eventually.

So, maybe on Monday. ??

In other news, Big Daddy had a happy birthday celebration last night. My mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, Cousin Callie, and Aunt Cisa and Uncle Wade came over. (Yes, only my family. Because that is how we party.) Maggie insists that her daddy is now 45 years old. We had brownie bites, angel food cake (that I made) with strawberries and whipped cream and my mom brought a peach cobbler because she always has to upstage my desserts. (Ha!)

In true 45 year old fashion, we have an appointment to look at minivans on Saturday. Can you feel my excitement? I actually fell asleep while sitting completely upright on the couch when Big Daddy was going over the features of the 2011 Honda Odyssey. I never even made it to his presentation on the 2011 Toyota Sienna vs. the 2010. We will also be shopping for the BD some new clothes and having lunch.

My friend A had the first step of her procedure yesterday and I'm planning to call her today. I'm not sure she'll be able to talk since she has had a lot of pain. Please pray for her. Knowing that the spot on her lip is cancerous has given all of us a lot to worry about, but it has also given the doctor's a better way to treat it.

Until next time...

Mini-vans have come a long way still I hope I never have to drive one.

You are making me a little nervous with all this big news talk. I'm selfishly hoping it isn't what we've discussed before. Whatever it is, I hope you can find comfort and inner peace about it real soon!
