I've been alone with the children all day...as in Daddy hasn't come home from work yet and now the girls are in bed.
Where is Daddy, you ask???
Well, he's out buying what will probably be referred to as "the Valentine's Day gift of 2011".
Any guesses on what it is???
And as long as I'm asking questions, I'd like ideas on thoughtful/useful gifts for teachers. We have preschool, Awana and Sunday school teachers to buy for so it adds up to 12 in all. I know the scented candle and candy route is what lots of parents do, so I'm trying to stay away from that. We may go with some extra special, extra fancy cookies that I want to try out. Or cake balls with pretty sprinkles..
I also have no idea what to get Big Daddy, but I'm thinking maybe a few new shirts for work. We are slowly expanding his "dress up clothes", as Maggie calls them.

A new candy heart red mini-van??
I used to teach, my husband and mom are teachers, and my dad used to teach too. So I can testify that the very best gifts are gift cards. I know it may seem not personal but at least you know your money isn't being wasted on something they won't use. You can still be creative. For example, my mom once got a "movie night" basket with Blockbuster gift card, popcorn, and a box of candy. But even if it's a plain Jane gift card, who doesn't like to go out for dinner - or dessert?! :)
I'm a huge fan of the giftcard, but cake balls would be awesome! I would LOVE that!
