All I Want For Christmas

We are a one income family that's saving for two college educations and paying for a third right now, so we do not make big purchases lightly. We live well, but we try to watch how we spend our money...especially with the economy being so horrible. Big Daddy and I really don't get gifts for each other, although he did buy me a new Vera Bradley item on sale this year.

I cannot stand to want things, but I still do. I decided to make out a little Christmas wish list. I really want a lot of these things, but I won't be asking for them because we just spent a large amount of money on new furniture, tuition and my SUV needs new tires, but it's fun to shop. I guess when you're a SAHM with no monetary income you wish you could go shopping.
  • A mei tai (pronounced may-tie). Baby Ellie is pushing 20 pounds and pretty soon she will be in a convertible car seat soon and I will be wearing her even more than I already do when we're out and about. Babywearing has become a big part of our everday lives so I want this pretty mei tai. I'd want it in a not too girly print so that Big Daddy will do a little babywearing too. I even scrounged around a found one cheaper.
  • The photo cards that I ordered to send out for Christmas. Yes, I'm waiting on them. I placed an order for 50 photo cards on November 10 and I have not received them! I'm trying to decide what to do- do I order more (from another company) or do I just send out a mass email to everyone I can with an e-card and then send snail mail cards to the friends that I receive cards from??
  • A little vacation. I'd love to go to D.isney World, but I don't think Ellie's ready for it, so I'd like to go back to Destin, Florida. Big Daddy and I think that it may be the happiest place on earth.
  • These cute shoes. Yes, they are for Baby Ellie, but I want them.
  • I'd get this crazy talking doll house for The Muffin. I wanted to get it for her, but after looking at it and reading some bad reviews, I decided to go with a smaller, simpler, much cheaper house. Muff did put this on her Christmas list at school, which made my heart sink! She has a great imagination and I know she'll do enough talking to make up for a silent dollhouse.
  • A trip to Vegas for Big Daddy. He enjoyed hiking at Red Rock last time, but I know he'd love to go here. He wasn't able to go last year because of the whole job loss-thing, but he'll probably go there sometime next year with his BFF and at a very discounted rate. I've always wanted to get him a ridiculously great gift and this would make his whole year. I'd also send his BFF Huu with him for hiking again in Red Rock and a visit to the Hoover Dam. (they are both engineers and Big Daddy would enjoy going there again...I think)
  • Pretty much anything from this store for me...and I'd like to loose those 15 pounds first.
  • An elliptical trainer for the bonus room. Being able to exercise in the house would be best for me. This isn't in our budget right now, but hopefully sometime next year.
  • Several pairs of babylegs for the girls. We LOVE our babylegs!!
  • A new rosemary tree for me. My two year old tree does not like it's new home.
  • Something really special for my parents. They have done so much for us this year. I'm not sure what I would get them, but it would probably be a trip to somewhere that they like.
  • I love my current cloth diapers, but I'd love to have some of the newer ones. Of course, they come out with new ones after I have a really nice stash.
  • I'd like to have my two best mommy friends under the tree. I miss these two girls far more than I could have ever imagined. When we all sign or emails with "xoxoxoxo" you know we have it bad for each other! With two boys and three girls between us, we can only hope for a matchmate and a wedding. I'd love for one my girls to have these families for in-laws!
The list could go on, but I'll end it here. I really have so much more than I deserve and I have two girls that really are a dream come true.
